Nariyal Paratha is the sweet Indian flatbread prepared by using grated coconut, Sugar, ghee and cardamom powder. Nariyal Paratha is also called Coconut Paratha. This sweet paratha is easy to make paratha with use of only four major ingredients.

It has so many health benefits because of using coconut in paratha.Coconut improves the hair growth ,bone growth , improves skin complexion, cools down the heat in the body, improves eyesight etc. You can give this sweet nariyal paratha in your kids lunch boxes.They will surely love to eat this.

Here in this blog, I have used grated dry coconut in stuffing but it can be made from fresh grated coconut also.You can opt any of the stuffing according to your convenience and taste palette.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp ghee for moyan
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • ¾ cup grated dry coconut
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg Powder
  • ¾ cup Powdered Sugar
Recipe Steps
  1. In a big mixing bowl, take wheat flour in it. Then add a pinch of salt,and ghee in it. Dry mix all the ingredients. Knead a soft dough with the help of milk.Dough is ready. Apply little ghee on top of dough so that crust of dough does not become hard.
  2. In a fry pan, add 2 tsp of ghee. Then add grated dry coconut in the ghee. Mix well , Now add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder in the pan. Roast the whole mixture for 3-4 minutes till the colour of grated coconut turns light brown in colour. Remove the coconut mixture from the fry pan to a plate. let it cool down at room temperature.Mix powdered sugar to the roasted coconut mixture and keep it aside in a bowl. Stuffing mixture is ready.
  3. If you are using fresh coconut , then squeeze all the coconut milk from it and after that roast it in ghee and then add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and nutmeg in roasted coconut.This the another way coconut Paratha can be made.You can choose any of the stuffing method, you want to use.
  4. Take a rolling board and rolling pin and divide the dough in equal portions balls.
  5. Fill the stuffing mixture inside the dough balls and roll it in a circular shape with the help of a rolling pin. Repeat the process for each dough ball.
  6. Cook this Nariyal Paratha on tawa from each side with the use of ghee.
  7. Cooked Paratha is crisp from outside and moist from inside.
  8. Serve hot Nariyal paratha with Ghee.
